After the breakup of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band in 1989, drummer Max Weinberg figured his musical career was over. He even briefly enrolled in law school, before the call of the drums brought him back into music. By literally bumping into Conan O'Brien on the street and convincing him to be his bandleader for his new talk show, Weinberg was hired, and he recruited six more New Jersey-based musicians to form the Max Weinberg 7, quoted as the best band on late night TV today.
